Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi announce that on July 17, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., members of the Clifton Police Department responded to the area of Bloomfield Avenue and Shafto Street in Clifton, New Jersey on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 65-year-old female from Passaic, New Jersey. The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where she was subsequently pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
