Bloomfield Police Blotter: July 6, 2026 to July 12, 2026

Theft
07/06/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue on report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a package was delivered by FedEx, however, when she went to retrieve it, it was missing. The package contained beauty products valued at $100.00. This incident is under investigation.

07/06/2026-The Loss Prevention Officer responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Shoplifting that occurred at 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls). According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female took two pairs of shoes then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $119.98. This incident is under investigation.

07/06/2026-Stephen Salmonsen age 40 of Bloomfield NJ. Officers responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a Shoplifting. A male took various items then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $182.51. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

07/7/2026-Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took a phone charger then left the store without paying. The item was valued at $19.99. This incident is under investigation.

07/08/2026-Officers responded to 17 Belleville Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took several pain medications from the shelf then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $1096.54. This incident is under investigation.

07/08/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed sneakers and socks in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $146.79. This incident is under investigation.

07/09/2026-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took several feminine products then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $208.98. This incident is under investigation.

07/09/2026-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took two boxes of diapers then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $75.98. This incident is under investigation.

07/10/2026-Officers responded to 35 Lackawanna Plaza (Buy-Rite) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took a bottle of Crown Royal then left the store without paying. The item was valued at $45.99. This incident is under investigation.

07/10/2026-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to store employee, a male took a bottle of Lysol wipes then left the store without paying. The item was valued at $8.70. This incident is under investigation.

07/11/2026-Officers responded to the area of JFK Drive and Dodd Street on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and when he returned the following morning, he noticed his passenger side window was smashed. A tool box and jump box were missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

07/11/2026-Officers responded to 357 Broad Street (Quick Chek) on report of a Theft. A resident placed her phone down inside the store then left the store without it. When she went back to the store to retrieve it, it was missing. This incident is under investigation.

07/11/2026-Antwan Reeves age 35 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to store employee, a male placed several items in his pockets then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $6.50. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

07/12/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed four pairs of shoes in a tote bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $399.96. This incident is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft
07/06/2026-Officers responded to 12 Arlington Avenue (99 Cent Depot) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The complainant parked his company van in the parking lot overnight and when he returned the following morning, it was missing. The vehicle, a white 2007 Ford Econoline, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

07/06/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft from the area of Belleville Avenue. The resident parked her vehicle in the building parking lot and when she returned, it was missing. The vehicle, a 2019 Kia Sorrento, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.

07/10/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Berkeley Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident received a notification that his credit card was used and when he went to his vehicle to get his wallet he noticed his vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a silver 2017 Kia Optima, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
