Port Authority Employee Arrested for Theft

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit arrested a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey employee following a theft investigation.

Noah Nieves, 53, of Pennsylvania, is charged with Theft by Deception in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:20-4, a crime of the third degree, and Tampering with Records in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-4b(1), a crime of the third degree.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance.

The investigation, conducted in coordination with the PANYNJ Office of the Inspector General, found the defendant falsified the reporting of his working hours to receive pay he did not earn. The defendant, who is employed as a maintenance supervisor, additionally provided a financial institution with false information about his employment status for personal benefit.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
