06/01/2026-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed candy in a shopping bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $45.00. This incident is under investigation.
06/01/2026-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from the 100 block of Walnut Street. The resident parked his vehicle in front of his residence and when he returned the following morning, he noticed the Volkswagen grill emblem was missing. This incident is under investigation.
06/03/2026-Jaylissa Varner age 21 of East Hanover NJ. Officers responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed fireworks in her bag then attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $58.92. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
06/03/2026-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Theft. A resident met a male in the parking lot for a Facebook Marketplace sale. The resident handed the male an Apple Pro Vision VR headset to inspect. The male then entered his vehicle and fled the scene with the headset. The item was valued at $3250.00. This incident is under investigation.
06/04/2026-Officers responded to 600 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, two females concealed cosmetics and food items in a reusable bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $150.00. This incident is under investigation.
06/04/2026-Officers responded to 17 Belleville Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed various items in his jacket then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $878.51. This incident is under investigation.
06/05/2026-Officers responded to the area of Myrtle Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, a male walked up to her porch and took a package. The package contained clothing valued at $72.00. This incident is under investigation.
06/06/2026-Officers responded to the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue on report of a Theft from Auto. The complainant parked his vehicle at the location at 11:30a.m. and when he returned at 12:43p.m., he noticed his trunk was open. Two gold chains and a Samsung Galaxy cell phone were missing from the vehicle. The items were valued at $4100.00. This incident is under investigation.
