Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 43-year-old MARK JANKOWSKI of Garfield, NJ on charges of luring. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Wallington Police Department, under the direction of Chief Ireneusz Kluska.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Wallington Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged luring of two children. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wallington Police Department revealed that MARK JANKOWSKI was in a vehicle at the intersection of Hayward Place and Locust Avenue and attempted to lure two children into the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, MARK JANKOWSKI was arrested in Wallington, NJ and charged with two counts of second-degree luring, N.J.S.A. 2C:13-6a. JANKOWSKI was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Wallington Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
