Theft
03/23/2026-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took toiletries and baby wipes then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $74.94. This incident is under investigation.

03/23/2026-Diego Rodriguez age 54 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 17 Belleville Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took four deodorants then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $25.56. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

03/23/2026-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male filled a reusable bag with various bottles of Lysol products then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $102.51. This incident is under investigation.

03/23/2026-Officers responded to 60 Huck Road (Bloomfield Middle School) on report of a Theft. The complainant parked his scooter by exit 20 at the Bloomfield Middle School at approximately 4:45p.m. and when he returned at approximately 8:45p.m., the scooter was missing. The scooter was an OKAI ES10 valued at $499.00. This incident is under investigation.

03/24/2026-Kalese Bragg age 24 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed various clothing and home goods items in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $438.65. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed her under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

03/23/2026-Officers responded to the 400 block of Beardsley Avenue on report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a package was delivered between 9:00a.m. and 2:00p.m. Video footage shows the courier place the package on the front porch, photograph the package, then take the package back to her vehicle and leave. The package contained jewelry valued at $15.00. This incident is under investigation.

03/26/2026-Juvenile Male age 15 of Bloomfield NJ. Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took several energy drinks and baby wipes then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $21.74. Officers located the suspect nearby and transported him to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

03/28/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. The Loss Prevention Officer observed video surveillance of a male filling a duffel bag with various clothing items. The male then dropped the duffel bag and left after noticing a police officer in the store. Shortly after, the male re-entered the store, retrieved the duffel bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $222.91. This incident is under investigation.

03/28/2026-Tawanna Edwards age 56 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the complainant, a female filled a bag with three pairs of Nike socks then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $59.97. Officers located the suspect nearby and placed her under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

03/29/2026-Officers responded to 357 Broad Street (Quick Chek) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, two males took various food items and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $23.46. This incident is under investigation.

03/29/2026-Officers responded to 1409 Broad Street (Shop Rite) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female filled a shopping cart with various food items then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $585.54. While the suspect was outside waiting to be picked up, the Loss Prevention approached her and took possession of the shopping cart. The female then fled the area. This incident is under investigation.

Burglary
03/27/2026-Officers responded to the area of John Street on report of a Burglary. According to a resident, her husband arrived home at 3:15p.m., and noticed a safe which was located in the bedroom closet was missing. After reviewing video surveillance, two suspects were observed ringing door bells to several units in the complex. When no one answered, the males manipulated the door lock, entered the apartment and removed the safe. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
