
On March 12, 2026, Detective Wichelns of the Millburn Police Department closed a theft investigation at Goldberg's Deli after the owner reported a man on video taking about $70 in small bills from a tip jar. Detective Wichelns identified the suspect, and 20-year-old Marc A. Benton of Roselle was charged with theft of movable property.
On March 14, 2023 Millburn Police Officer Genitempo stopped a Honda Fit on Millburn Ave/ Short Hills Ave for motor vehicle violations. The investigation led to the arrest Henry Carvallorios, age 45, of Springfield for suspected DWI. He was charged with DWI and related motor vehicle offenses. He was later released to an acquaintance.
On March 20, 2026, Detective Wichelns of the Millburn Police Department closed a theft investigation at Coffee Mill on Main Street after the owner reported his cell phone with a wallet case containing credit cards and cash went missing, the cards were later used fraudulently. Detective Wichelns identified 19-year-old Marc Benton of Roselle, who was charged with theft of movable property, credit card theft, and credit card fraud.
On March 29, 2026, Millburn Police Officer Greenbush stopped a pedestrian on Route 124 near Farley Place for jaywalking. A records check revealed the individual had two outstanding warrants for his arrest—one out of Union and one out of Nutley. When Officer Greenbush attempted to place him under arrest, the individual fled on foot. Millburn officers pursued and successfully took him into custody without further incident. A search incident to arrest resulted in the recovery of a loaded handgun, suspected crack cocaine, and a crack pipe. Tyler Caillet, age 26, of Short Hills Ter apartments, was charged with resisting arrest, possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility
