North Bergen Man Wanted in Connection with Union City Homicide

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s help in locating a 57-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Union City on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Luis Marin, of North Bergen, has been charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1), and Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b.

The defendant should not be approached and anyone with information regarding Marin’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips. All information will be kept confidential. A photo of the suspect is below.

Just after 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, the Union City Police Department was notified of an altercation/shots fired in the area of Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street. Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen – with an apparent gunshot wound(s). He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased shortly after 2:30 a.m.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
