A workshop for anyone who wants to write, or wants to infuse their existing writing practice with new energy. In each class, we'll consider one element of fiction or creative non-fiction, such as point of view, narrative voice, and what makes a piece of writing riveting, or boring. Positive encouragement will be featured, and inspiration and organization for writers will be discussed.

Each reader shares one-on-one reading time with a teen volunteer from Tenafly Middle School or Tenafly High School. Children are encouraged to bring their own books or they can select one from our collection. Teen volunteers can also read to children not quite ready to read on their own. Reading with a teen buddy helps new and emerging readers gain confidence while practicing reading skills.
