On March 10, 2026, at approximately 1:30 pm, the Harrison Police Department, Hudson County Sheriff's K-9 Unit and Jersey City Bomb Squad safely resolved a bomb threat at Harrison High School after an extensive search found no evidence of explosives or weapons.

School staff reported a threatening phone call demanding $20,000 in unmarked bills and claiming that an explosive device had been placed in the building. Police immediately responded. Students and staff were evacuated to the school field so a complete and thorough search could be completed.

Officers from the Harrison Police Department, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and the Jersey City Bomb Squad conducted a full sweep of the building. No threats were located, and the school was cleared for re-entry a short time later.

This swatting incident is under investigation, and the Harrison Police Detective Bureau welcomes any information that might assist in the investigation.
