
Burglary Arrest
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 3:57 AM, Sgt. Iker Bermudez observed a male attempting to force entry into a ticket booth at Sports Illustrated Stadium and detained the suspect until PO Connor McClelland and PO Anthony Cecere arrived to assist. Eddie L. Monzon of Newark was arrested and found in possession of burglary tools. He was processed and transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility.
Assault
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 2:51 AM, PO Carlos Delgado responded with Sgt. Iker Bermudez, PO Jonathan Andres Puglla, PO Connor McClelland, and PO Anthony Cecere to the area of Cape May Street and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd South after reports that a female had been forcibly pulled from a vehicle and struck her head on the curb before the vehicle fled toward Newark. Officers located the injured female, who was unwilling to identify herself. EMS responded, and due to her condition and apparent intoxication, officers arranged for her involuntary transport to St. Michael’s Medical Center. The investigation remains active.
Aggravated Assault / Assault by Auto
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 2:26 AM, units responded to Supor Boulevard for crowd control where PO Anthony Cecere, PO Carlos Delgado, PO Jonathan Andres Puglla, and PO Connor McClelland encountered a female victim who reported being dragged by a vehicle operated by her ex-boyfriend during a domestic incident. The suspect, Dennis P. Chasipantacuichan of Newark, was located and placed under arrest. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment, and the defendant was processed and transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility.
DWI Arrests
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 2:03 AM, PO Alex Naprawa conducted a motor vehicle stop near Cross Street and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd North after observing a vehicle operating without proper lighting. P.O. Javier Sojos and PO Jonathan Andres Puglla assisted on scene. The driver, Elizabeth G. Espinoza of Kearny, showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Espinoza was arrested, processed, and later released to a responsible party. The vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 1:24 AM, Sgt. Iker Bermudez observed a pickup truck swerving and crossing marked lanes near Bergen Street and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd South and conducted a motor vehicle stop. PO Alex Naprawa and PO Carlos Delgado assisted on scene. The driver, Juan C. Ojedacalle of Newark, displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety testing. He was arrested for DWI and related violations. The vehicle was impounded, and Ojedacalle was later released to a responsible party.
On February 16, 2026, at approximately 12:53 AM, PO Carlos Delgado located a driver asleep behind the wheel on Harrison Avenue, creating a traffic hazard. PO Santiago Gomez assisted on scene. The driver, Fredy M. MayoJaramillo of Newark, displayed signs of intoxication and later recorded a .22% BAC. He was arrested for DWI and related violations. The vehicle was impounded, and he was later released to a responsible adult.
Warrant Arrest
On February 13, 2026, at approximately 7:45 PM, PO Jonathan Andres Puglla and PO Carlos Delgado took custody of Mahmoud M. Younes at Middlesex County Correctional Facility on an outstanding contempt warrant issued out of Harrison. Younes was transported and lodged at Hudson County Correctional Facility without incident.
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 6:02 PM, PO Anthony Cecere took custody of Jesus A. Cuevas at headquarters after Newark Police turned him over on an outstanding Harrison warrant. Cuevas posted bail, signed the required paperwork, and was released with a new court date.
On February 16, 2026, at approximately 12:40 AM, PO Alex Naprawa took custody of Alfredo L. Herrera after NJ Transit Police turned him over at headquarters on an outstanding Harrison ACS warrant. Herrera was unable to post bail and was lodged at Hudson County Correctional Facility.
On February 16, 2026, at approximately 2:45 AM, PO Santiago Gomez took custody of Samir R. Hassaballa after Hudson County Sheriff’s Officers delivered him to headquarters on an outstanding ATS warrant. Hassaballa posted bail, was advised of his court date, and was released without incident.
