
The Fairfield Police Department announces the arrest of Danilo Suero (24), of Passaic, NJ on aggravated assault charges stemming from an incident that occurred on February 16, 2026.
On that date at approximately 9:40 am, the victim arrived at his place of employment, David’s Cookies, located at 28 Industrial Road in Fairfield. It is alleged that Suero parked next to him, entered his vehicle, placed a knife to his throat, and threatened him. The victim was able to also video record part of the interaction. Suero then left the vehicle without further incident.
The victim contacted police headquarters and officers were able to take a statement and review video surveillance. It is alleged that the motive for the incident was that Suero was not pleased with how the victim was treating one of his family members.
Subsequently, Suero was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. On February 20, 2026, Suero surrendered himself to Fairfield authorities, accompanied by his attorney. He was processed, served with his charges and released pending an initial appearance at the Essex County Courthouse.
