Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 45-year-old ROCKY L. LABARBERA of Dumont, NJ on charges of possession with the intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances and money laundering. The arrest is a result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the United States Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Inspector in Charge of the Philadelphia Division Christopher Nielsen.

During an ongoing narcotics investigation, the United States Postal Inspection Service intercepted approximately two ounces of suspected cocaine and one ounce of suspected ketamine, which are controlled dangerous substances. The packages were sent from California and intended to be delivered to a private residence in Dumont, NJ. Accordingly, a joint investigation into the drug activity was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, United States Postal Inspection Service (“USPIS”), and the Dumont Police Department.

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, USPIS, and the Dumont Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant at the residence in Dumont, NJ. During the search warrant, detectives located and identified the resident, ROCKY L. LABARBERA, and recovered suspected cocaine, ketamine, and U.S. currency.

As a result of the investigation, ROCKY L. LABARBERA was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2); third-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(13); and third-degree money laundering, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-25a. LABARBERA was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, made his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ, and was ordered released pending further court action.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank and recognize United States Postal Inspection Service and the Dumont Police Department for their assistance in this investigation. In addition, he thanks the Garfield Police Department, North Arlington Police Department, and the Port Authority Police Department, which all participate in the Bergen County Narcotic Task Force.
