Paterson Man Wanted on Aggravated Assault and Gun Charges

The Fairfield Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jheyson Condori-Campos (31), of Paterson, NJ on weapons related charges stemming from an incident that occurred on February 10, 2026. On that date at approximately 9:07 pm, Fairfield police received a 911 call from Wonder, located at 330 Fairfield Road. Headquarters advised responding officers that no one was speaking during the 911 call. Officers were dispatched to the scene and they arrived soon after to further investigate.

Upon the arrival of Officers Andrew VanderWal and John Scrivo, it was determined an altercation had occurred several minutes prior in the parking lot. Further investigation revealed that Condori-Campos allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with another male in the parking lot prior to the 911 call. During that time, it is also alleged Condori-Campos removed a handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the victim, then struck the victim in the face with the handgun. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and refused further medical treatment.

Condori-Campos identity was confirmed by witnesses on scene. They also provided information about the vehicle he was operating, which was a grey Toyota Rav4 bearing Virginia registration TGY8316. This information was distributed to surrounding towns and a short time later, the Paterson Police Department stated they located the vehicle unoccupied in their city. Fairfield officers arrived at the location and took possession of the vehicle, securing it pending the approval of a search warrant.

The search warrant was obtained and executed by Fairfield detectives on February 13, 2026. Inside the vehicle, one 9mm bullet was located. At present, the handgun has not been located.

In addition, Condori-Campos has not been located and is now a wanted person. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department at 973-227-1400 or email our Detective Bureau at detectives@fairfieldnj.org. All information will be kept confidential.

“Although we do receive 911 calls that are accidental in nature, we still have a duty to dispatch officers to all of them,’ said Public Information Officer Stacy Chiarolanza. “In this case, the caller may have kept quiet in fear of the situation, however, our officers know that nothing is routine, and treated this called as such.”

(Charges are merely allegations until the defendant is proven guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law).
