02/09/2026-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took a box of pampers and two packs of baby wipes then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $83.07. This incident is under investigation.
02/10/2026-Gloria Flores age 62 of Belleville NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the security officer, a female concealed clothing and other various items in a shopping bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $60.50. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
02/10/2026-Elias Rodriguez age 43 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the security officer, a male concealed dish soap in his jacket and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $43.50. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

02/11/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshall’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed four pairs of shoes in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $159.96. This incident is under investigation.
02/11/2026-Felix Guzman age 25 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshall’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed several packages of underwear in a bag then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $284.91. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
02/11/2026-Officers responded to the 300 block of Broughton Avenue on report of a Catalytic Converter Theft. A resident parked his vehicle near the residence on 02/11/2026 at 1:00a.m. and when returned the following morning, he noticed the vehicle was not operating properly. It was later discovered that the catalytic converter was missing. This incident is under investigation.
02/13/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, a package was delivered to her apartment building and surveillance cameras showed a male taking the package. The package contained printer filament and a smart lock valued at $206.28. This incident is under investigation.
02/14/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue on report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a bouquet of flowers was delivered to the lobby, however, when she went to retrieve them, they were missing. This incident is under investigation.
02/14/2026-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshall’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed handbags and clothing then left the store without paying. The items were valued at $274.91. This incident is under investigation.

02/14/2026-Officers responded to the area of Franklin Street on report of a Theft. According to a resident, her son left his e-bike unsecured in the hallway and when he returned the following day, it was missing. The e-bike was valued at $280.00. This incident is under investigation.
02/14/2026-Elizabeth Gottfried age 49 of Toms River NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshall’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female attempted to leave the store with various merchandise valued at $224.28. The suspect was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
Motor Vehicle Theft
02/14/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle in the rear lot at 7:30p.m. and when he returned the following morning, it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2022 Dodge Ram, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
Burglary
02/10/2026-Officers responded to the area of Columbus Street on report of a Burglary. According to video surveillance, a suspect entered the complainant’s residence at 11:03p.m., opened and entered two separate doors, then exited at 11:05p.m. Several jewelry items and a Bulova watch were missing from the bedroom. The items were valued at $1,200.00. This incident is under investigation.
These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time.
