On January 20, 2026, Millburn Police Detective Wichelns completed an investigation into a residential burglary at a Far Brook Drive residence. The suspect gained entry into the home, stole the homeowner’s key fob and wallet, and then used the key fob to steal a BMW from the driveway. As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old juvenile male was charged with juvenile delinquency (Burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy, and credit card fraud).

On January 21, 2026, Millburn Police Detective Rebelo completed an investigation into a burglary of a motor vehicle at a Wyoming Avenue residence. As a result of the investigation, Kevin Bennett, age 31, of Newark, and Asaad Hinton, age 22, of East Orange, were charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit theft.

On January 28, 2026, Millburn Police Detective Rebelo completed an investigation of a female passing counterfeit $100 Bills, while paying for merchandise at the Intimissimi store at the Short Hills Mall. Melanie Perea-Moreno, age 27, of Forest Hills NY was charged Forgery and theft by deception.

On February 1, 2026 Millburn Police Officer Recinos stopped an Audi A5 on Main St for motor vehicle violations. The investigation led to the arrest of Richard Clark, age 44, of East Orange for suspected DWI. He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license. He was later released to an acquaintance.


These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
