
A juvenile charged in connection with the 2025 fatal shooting of Rahmiere Morris has been waived up to criminal court and will be prosecuted as an adult.
Naheim King, 18, of Jersey City, is charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)/(2), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1), and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1). King was 17 at the time of the offense.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., on Friday, January 3, 2025, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road. A male victim – later identified as Rahmiere Morris, 20, of Jersey City – was located with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m.
The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
