On December 16, at approximately 4:30 PM, officers were dispatched to ShopRite on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention reported that Paul Tur, Midland Park NJ, age 68, attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. He was placed under arrest and charged with one count of shoplifting.

On December 16, at approximately 8:00 PM, officers were dispatched to ShopRite on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention reported that Frank Weathers, Paterson NJ, age 66, concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. He was placed under arrest and charged with one count of shoplifting.

On December 16, at approximately 11:00 PM, officers responded to Cedar Hill Avenue on a report that a vehicle struck a utility pole. While speaking with the driver, Ryan Kemp, North Haledon NJ, age 36, officers detected signs of impairment. Further tests were administered, and he was placed under arrest. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. His vehicle was impounded and held for 12 hours under John’s Law.

On December 20, at approximately 9:15 PM, officers responded to a burglar alarm at a residence on Sunset Boulevard. The officers observed a cut window screen and markings on the window consistent with attempted entry. Officers checked the interior of the home and found no indications that anyone had entered it. The detective bureau is conducting further investigation.

On December 23, at approximately 11:00 AM, a resident of Steinhauser Lane reported items were taken from her vehicle during the overnight hours. The vehicle had been left unlocked, and the actor(s) took a pair of sunglasses valued at $500.00. Two other vehicles in the driveway were locked and not entered.

On December 29, at approximately 5:45 PM, a resident of Charnwood Drive reported they received notification from the New Jersey State Police that their wallet was recovered in a stolen vehicle in another jurisdiction. The homeowner advised P.O. Powderley that they last saw the wallet inside their home. The investigation revealed that an unlocked vehicle in the driveway was entered, and the garage door opener was used to gain entry to the garage. The occupied house was then entered through the garage, and the wallet and two jackets were reported stolen. The detective bureau is conducting further investigation.

On January 16, 2026, at approximately 12:15 AM, a resident of Godwin Avenue reported an unknown vehicle was parked in their driveway. The occupant of the vehicle advised P.O. Marissa Santo that he ran out of gas. He provided P.O. Santo a fictitious name and date of birth, claiming he did not have a driver’s license with him. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Anthony Juliano, Ridgefield Park, NJ, age 39. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, distribution of a prescription legend drug, possession of paraphernalia, failure to make proper disposition of a controlled dangerous substance and hindering apprehension by providing false information to law enforcement. He was processed and remanded to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center.

On January 17, 2026, at approximately 2:15 PM, loss prevention from Marshall’s reported two suspected shoplifters were in the business concealing merchandise. P.O. Marcoux and P.O. Powderley observed one of the suspects exiting the store and detained her. She was found to be in possession of unpaid merchandise and placed under arrest. The second suspect was located in the store with concealed merchandise and placed under arrest. Grace Ortega-Briceno, Paterson NJ, age, 40 was charged with one count of shoplifting and released pending a court date. While in custody, Ortega-Briceno was identified as the person that committed shoplifting at Marshall’s on January 15, 2026. She was issued an additional charge for that offense. Jesus Sarmiento-Ramos, Paterson NJ, age 42, was charged with one count of shoplifting and released pending a court date.


The Wyckoff Police Department would like to point out that the above individuals have been charged with a crime, offense, and or motor vehicle violations. However, they are presumed innocent unless and until they are found guilty in a court of law.

We cannot stress enough the value of our residents remaining alert in their neighborhoods and reporting anything unusual or suspicious to the police, “Hear It! See It!, Report It!”
