Theft
12/30/2025-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed two bags of shrimp in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $47.96. This incident is under investigation.

12/30/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female took three handbags and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $104.97. This incident is under investigation.

12/30/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto from the area of Arlington Avenue. The resident parked his vehicle in his assigned parking space overnight. When he returned to it the following morning, he noticed it was rummaged through. A computer and handheld radio were missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

12/30/2025-Rahmir Singletary age 23 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to the area of Harrison Street on report of a Theft from Auto. According to the complainant, a male entered a parked vehicle and was rummaging through it. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

12/31/2025-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Sally’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took several hair products and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $201.36. This incident is under investigation.

01/01/2026-Officers responded to 303 Berkeley Avenue (Wrights Field) on report of a Theft. A resident placed his e-bike in the bike rack at Wrights Field but did not secure it. When he returned fifteen minutes later, the e-bike was missing. The e-bike was a TumoByke valued at $750.00. This incident is under investigation.

01/01/2026-Bianca Ricca age 20 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed clothing in her bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

01/03/2025-Officers responded to the 300 block of Belleville Avenue on report of a Theft. A resident had a friend over for the evening, and when he left she noticed a bag containing $611.00, credit cards and house keys missing from her dresser drawer. This incident is under investigation.

01/04/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of Jerome Place on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, a male walked up to her porch and removed two packages. The packages contained clothing and food valued at $127.00. This incident is under investigation.

01/04/2026-Vance Rouse age 56 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male filled two shopping bags with merchandise and left the store without paying. Officers were able to locate the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

Motor Vehicle Theft
01/02/2026-Officers responded to the 100 block of LaFrance Avenue on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. According to a resident, two males broke the passenger side window of his vehicle and damaged the ignition. This incident is under investigation.

Burglary
12/29/2025-Officers responded to the 200 block of Watchung Avenue on report of a Burglary. A resident left his house on 12/24/2025 and when he returned on 12/29/2025, he noticed the basement window was shattered. He then noticed drawers opened throughout the apartment and a PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch were missing. Surveillance cameras showed two males with masks and bags walking up the stairwell. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
