Theft
12/08/2025-Omar Vazquez age 37 of Elizabeth NJ. Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Dollar Tree) on report of a Shoplifting. Detectives recognized a male as a frequent shoplifter from several stores. Detectives then confirmed through store surveillance that the suspect left the store with several items without paying. The items were valued at $54.00. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed.

12/08/2025-Bethany Vazquez age 25 of Elizabeth NJ. Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed various grocery items in a bag, only paid for one item, and then left the store. The items were valued at $51.63. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed her under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

12/09/2025-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed Lego sets in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $24.98. This incident is under investigation.

12/09/2025-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a female concealed baby wipes in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $37.86. This incident is under investigation.

12/09/2025-Christopher Davis age 23 of East Orange NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male took three pairs of shoes and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $209.97. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

12/10/2025-Officers responded to the area of Irving Terrace on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident observed his passenger door slightly open. He checked his vehicle which was left unlocked, and noticed his the interior lights on. His vape and $40.00 were missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

12/11/2025-Officers responded to the area of Watsessing Avenue on report of a Theft. A resident chained his e-bike to a post in front of the residence and when he returned, he noticed it was missing. The e-bike was valued at $750.00. This incident is under investigation.

12/10/2025-The owner of Krauser’s located at 1263 Broad Street responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Shoplifting. According to the owner, a juvenile male took 2 packs of gum and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $4.00. This incident is under investigation.

12/11/2025-While on patrol on the 200 block of Beardsley Avenue, Officers observed a BMW parked in the middle of the street and a male running down a driveway into the vehicle. The BMW then fled the scene. Officers then noticed an Audi parked in the driveway with the interior light on and made contact with the owner. The owner advised Officers that he left his vehicle unlocked and noticed that $20.00 was missing. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed several medicine items in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $240.88. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed various clothing items in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $377.82. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed ten packs of undershirts in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $299.90. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Officers responded to the area of Grace Street on report of a Theft. According to a resident, a male removed the garbage bags from his garbage bin and then walked away with the bin. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Officers responded to the area of Ferncliff Road on report of a Theft from Auto. A resident noticed that her vehicle was rummaged through. There was nothing reported missing from the vehicle at this time. This incident is under investigation.

12/12/2025-Juvenile male age 17 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, two males were attempting to conceal items in the aisles. Officers arrived and were able to locate one of the suspects. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

Motor Vehicle Theft
12/10/2025-Officers responded to the 100 block of Montgomery Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident found the rear passenger side window of his vehicle shattered. Upon further inspection, the resident found a screw driver and wires pulled out from under the dash board. This incident is under investigation.

Burglary
12/08/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Burglary from the area of Belleville Avenue. A resident received a motion alert from her interior cameras which showed her neighbor’s juvenile son inside her apartment. The juvenile entered the apartment through the rear door. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
