The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Shortly after 5:10 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of an injured male inside an apartment on Rose Avenue. Responding officers located a male juvenile – later identified as Al-Jahmir Curry, 16, of Pennsylvania – with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced deceased just before 5:30 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The circumstances regarding the shooting are actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
