Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 27-year-old ALONSO E. JUAREZ ROJANO of Elmwood Park, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Elmwood Park Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno.
On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Elmwood Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elmwood Park Police Department revealed that ALONSO E. JUAREZ ROJANO sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile in an Elmwood Park, NJ residence on December 6, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, ALONSO E. JUAREZ ROJANO was arrested in Elmwood Park, NJ and charged with first-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1); second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). JUAREZ ROJANO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Elmwood Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
