Theft
11/17/2025-Officers responded to 160 Broad Street (Bloomfield High School) on report of a Theft. A student parked his e-bike behind the high school on the bike rack on 11/14/2025 at 7:25a.m. and when he returned at dismissal, it was missing. The e-bike was valued at $1,000.00. This incident is under investigation.

11/17/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed several clothing items under his jacket and two pairs of sneakers in a bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $199.97. This incident is under investigation.

11/17/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed a pair of men’s boots in a bag and left the store without paying. The item was valued at $99.99. This incident is under investigation.

11/17/2025-Tawana Edwards age 23 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed several clothing items in a bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. The suspect was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer. The items were valued at $314.63. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

11/19/2025-Officers responded to 13 Race Street (Bloomfield Masonry Supply) on report of a Theft. According to a store employee, a van drove into the rear of the warehouse and the driver took masonry stone and other supplies. The items were valued at $2,000.00. This incident is under investigation.

11/20/2025-Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed candles and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $71.92. This incident is under investigation.

11/20/2025-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male concealed several packages of candy and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $85.92. This incident is under investigation.

11/20/2025-Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on report of a Theft from Auto. The complainant went inside the store and when she returned to her vehicle, she noticed it was rummaged through. There was nothing reported missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.

11/21/2025-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, on 11/18/2025 at 3:50p.m., a male took an unknown amount of items and left the store without paying. This incident is under investigation.

11/21/2025-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, on 11/19/2025 at 1:45p.m., a male took an unknown amount of items and left the store without paying. This incident is under investigation.

11/21/2025-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, on 11/19/2025 at 2:00p.m., a male took an unknown amount of items and left the store without paying. This incident is under investigation.

11/21/2025-Kristian Villanueva age 32 of Belleville NJ. Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed multiple packs of energy drinks in his bag and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $61.48. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

11/21/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Package Theft from the 100 block of Franklin Street. A resident provided surveillance video of an unknown male taking her package as well as other tenants packages from the building. The package was valued at $130.00. This incident is under investigation.

11/21/2025-Officers responded to the area of Broughton Avenue on report of a Bicycle Theft. A resident secured his bicycle to a street sign in front of his residence and when he returned, the bicycle was missing. The bicycle was a Sole valued at $200.00. This incident is under investigation.

11/22/2025-Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took laundry detergent and fabric softener and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $62.45. This incident is under investigation.

11/22/2025-John Lawson age 59 of East Orange NJ. Officers responded to 331 Broad Street (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed several boxes of Theraflu. The items were valued at $40.27. Officers responded and located the suspect still inside the store. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

11/22/2025-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took Bounty paper towels and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $47.98. This incident is under investigation.

11/22/2025-Edward Ward age 59 of East Orange NJ. Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took several detergents and attempted to leave the store without paying. The suspect was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer. The items were valued at $61.48. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

11/23/2025-Juvenile male age 17 of Newark NJ. Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male concealed several snack items in his backpack and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $72.48. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

11/23/2025-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took Bounty paper towels and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $47.98. This incident is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Theft:
11/18/2025-Officers responded to 248 Glenwood Avenue (Kentucky Fried Chicken) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The complainant left his vehicle unlocked and running while he went inside the restaurant to wait for his food order. When he returned, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a black 2022 Honda Civic, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.


These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
