News Update from the Mayor

Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Please note that the vendor that supports our Code Red messaging system is still experiencing technical issues with all their customers and they are currently unable to deliver our Borough phone messages. We expect to have a replacement solution shortly.

This Saturday, November 22 from 11 am to 2 pm join us for cars, music and food to support local families this Holiday season. Iconic modern classic cars, live DJ, food trucks, and most importantly a food drive benefiting the Center for Food Action. Please bring non-perishable food donation items and receive a free apple pie while supplies last. Organized and hosted by Tenafly residents and businesses at Padel United Sports Club, 160 Broadway in Cresskill.

The Senior Center is holding a trip to see “CHESS” on Broadway on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Tickets are $210.00. Orchestra seats and transportation are included. Lunch is on your own. Call the Senior Center for more details. Spaces fill up very quickly for Senior Center trips, so call soon to 201-569-2159.

This weekend at the Nature Center, families with children ages 1.5 to 7 are invited to enjoy Forest School Free Play on Sunday, November 23 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Please note that while the Nature Center’s indoor facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, the trails remain open, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to enjoy them on this day of thanks; regular operating hours resume the following day.

You can also recharge after the holiday at our Trail Running Essentials workshop on November 30, featuring skill-building and a guided run through our beautiful trails. Register at www.tenaflynaturecenter.org

It is time for the Christmas season open house at the Presbyterian Church. Saturday, December 13, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Festive treats in the Church House Café, crèche festival in the old Chapel and the newly decorated sanctuary, with Christmas caroling at 4:00 pm. Free of charge, donations welcome. 55 Magnolia Avenue.

Experience the Community Choir and Orchestra concert, Sunday December 14, at 7:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church. Festive favorites, including excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Rutter’s What Sweeter Music, Holst’s Christmas Day, and secular music of the season, with carols for all to join in. Free of charge.

The Tenafly Chamber of Commerce invites vendors, sponsors, and performers to join the Tenafly Holiday Fair on Sunday, December 14, Noon to 5:00 pm in downtown Tenafly. Learn more at Tenaflychamber.org/holiday-fair
