Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 71-year-old IMRI OSMANI of Little Ferry, NJ, on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Little Ferry Police Department, under the direction of Chief James Walters.
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the Little Ferry Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding alleged sexual assaults of a juvenile that occurred in the past. The investigation revealed that IMRI OSMANI sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Little Ferry, NJ on more than one occasion, between May 2018 and May 2020. As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, IMRI OSMANI was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1); second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1).
On Sunday, November 16, 2025, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, the Port Authority Police Department of NY & NJ, and United States Customs and Border Protection agents, IMRI OSMANI was located and arrested in Newark, NJ. OSMANI was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Little Ferry Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, the Port Authority Police Department, and U. S. Customs and Border Protection for their assistance in this investigation.
