10/13/2025-Franklin Sanchez age 49 of Newark, NJ. Officers responded to 250 Glenwood Avenue (CVS) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took several ice cream products and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $127.03. Officers were able to locate the suspect nearby and placed him under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to 13 Race Street (Chalet Construction) on report of a Theft. According to the complainant, an unknown male has repeatedly entered the construction supply yard since February 2025 and removed various construction materials. The materials were valued at $1200.00. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to 135 Bloomfield Avenue (Staples) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took fifteen Lego toys and left the store without paying. The toys were valued at $269.85. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took various winter coats and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $249.06. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to 244 Bloomfield Avenue (Aldi) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male took steaks and salmon then left the store through the rear emergency door without paying. The items were valued at $292.32. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to 17 Belleville Avenue (Walgreens) on report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took detergent and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $64.90. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto from the area of Charles Street. The resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and when he returned to it the following morning, he noticed it was rummaged through. A backpack containing a wallet and headphones was missing from the vehicle. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-Officers responded to the area of Van Winkle Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, an email confirmation was received that a package was delivered during the day, however when she went to retrieve it, it was missing. The package contained dog toys and dog food valued at $25.00. This incident is under investigation.
10/14/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto from the 100 block of Washington Street. The resident parked his vehicle in the lot overnight and left it unlocked. When he returned to it the following morning, he noticed two cell phones were missing from the center console. This incident is under investigation.
10/15/2025-Officers responded to 8-12 Franklin Street (Marshalls) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took various winter coats and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $209.97. This incident is under investigation.
10/16/2025-Christopher Aliotta age 65 from Bloomfield, NJ. Officers responded to 106 Montgomery Street on report of a Theft. According to the complainant, video surveillance showed an unknown male in a white van entering the parking garage of the building and removing various construction materials. The materials were valued at $617.34. After further investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect. The suspect was contacted via phone and then voluntarily responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
10/16/2025-A resident responded to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to report a Theft from Auto from the area of Ella Street. A resident parked her vehicle on the street overnight and when she returned to it the following morning, she noticed the fuse box was open and her backpack was missing. The backpack contained a Dell laptop, iPad and Logitech keyboard. The items were valued at $1,890.00. This incident is under investigation.
10/18/2025-Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took food items and left the store without paying. The items were valued at $6.98. This incident is under investigation.
10/18/2025-Angel Pagan age 54 from Belleville, NJ. Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male took three packages of salami and attempted to leave the store without paying. The items were valued at $64.47. Officers arrived and placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be processed accordingly.
10/18/2025-Officers responded to the area of Franklin Street on report of a Package Theft. According to a resident, video surveillance footage shows an unknown male take a package from the lobby area of the apartment building. The package contained baby formula valued at $170.00. This incident is under investigation.
Motor Vehicle Theft
10/16/2025-Officers responded to the 200 block of Broughton Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident rented his vehicle to someone through Turo on 10/01/2025. The vehicle was supposed to be returned on 10/09/2025, however the renter failed to return the vehicle. The vehicle, a white 2019 Honda Accord, was entered as stolen. This incident is under investigation.
10/19/2025-Officers responded 19 Belleville Avenue (Super Fresh) on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident left her vehicle unlocked and running in the parking lot of the store while she went in to get some items. When she returned, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle, a black 2022 Mercedes Benz GLS, was entered into NCIC as Stolen. This incident is under investigation.
These incidents are currently being investigated by Bloomfield Detectives. Due to the on-going investigations, information will not be released at this time. The information is released to the press at the discretion of the police department and may not represent the total scope of police activity. All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
