On August 21, 2025, Millburn Police Sergeant DeRosa conducted a pedestrian stop on Route 124 after observing a male subject jaywalking. During the stop, a records check revealed that the individual, identified as David Shea, age 33, of Middletown, NJ, had three active arrest warrants issued out of Springfield. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and stolen merchandise from a local Walgreens store. As a result, David Shea was charged with Shoplifting and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).

On August 22, 2025 Millburn Police responded to a Canterbury Lane residence on a report of a burglary that occurred during a period which the homeowner was away. The investigation revealed that someone entered the home through a second-floor window. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Detective bureau.

On August 22, 2025, the Millburn Police Department received a report of a blue BMW 430 operating erratically and failing to maintain its lane while traveling north on White Oak Ridge Road. Officer Porras located the vehicle stopped in a lane of traffic on Parsonage Hill Road shortly thereafter. Following an investigation, the driver—identified as Kanai Martin, age 21, of Belleville—was arrested for suspected driving while intoxicated (DWI). Martin was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, possession of open alcohol containers in a motor vehicle, and several related motor vehicle offenses. Martin was later released to the custody of an acquaintance pending a future court appearance.

On August 23, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Dalakian responded to single vehicle crash on Parsonage Hill Rd. The investigation led to the arrest of Matthew Gordon, age 29, of Montclair NJ for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Gordon was charged with DWI and later released to an acquaintance.

Om August 24, 2025, Millburn Officer Sweeney stopped a silver Hyundai Elantra on rt 124 for suspicious activity. The investigation led to the arrest of Shalonda Huggins, age 41, of Hillside NJ for suspicion of DWI. She was charged with DWI and refusal to submit a breath test and released to an acquaintance.

On August 29, 2025, Millburn Police Officer Matos attempted to stop a Chevy Impala at the Short Hills Mall for motor vehicle violations. The vehicle refused to stop and fled the mall parking lot onto Rt 124. Moments later the vehicle returned to the mall property. Officer Matos was able to stop the vehicle in front of Macys. The driver Almumyn Jones, age 36, of Newark NJ was placed under arrest. He was charged with Obstruction, Eluding police and multiple motor vehicle violations. He was transported to Essex County Correctional facility.

On September 3, 2025 Millburn Police Officer Reid observed an adult male sitting with his pants down committing a lewd act in the stairwell of the Millburn parking deck (Lot 2). The investigation led to the arrest of George Cash, age 33, of Short Hills. He was charged Lewdness.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
