Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

At the Nature Center it’s Mammal Mania this Sunday, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Join TNC and the Senior Center for an up-close look at furry Animal Ambassadors and connect with fellow adults in a fun, educational setting.

This Tuesday, September 2 at 7:00 pm we are presenting our final outdoor summer concert of the 2025 season, and what a finale it will be. Grammy Nominated Richard Baratta brings his All-Star Latin/Jazz Nonet, featuring music from his latest recording and more. What a great way to bring such a joyful and exciting summer of wonderful music to a close. So bring your lawn chairs and prepare yourself for a great evening of entertainment.

On Thursday, September 4 The Tenafly Welcome! committee is inviting all new residents who have moved to Tenafly during the past year to the New Residents’ Welcome event from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Peace Plaza, next to the library. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our Mayor, the Borough Council and Borough Hall team, first responders, principals from our Tenafly schools and to enjoy delicious catered hors-d’oeuvres, desserts, balloons and prizes. Looking forward to meeting and welcoming our newest Tenafly Residents! Check your mailboxes. The invitations have been mailed.

Tennis fans - this coming Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7, Tenafly will be hosting a U.S. Open watch party complete with a Jumbotron in Huyler Park. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy terrific food from our downtown restaurants. Details will be posted on the Borough website. This is going to be a fabulous community event for everyone. Bring the kids and come join in the fun!

Saturday, September 6 is the annual Elks Clambake. From 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm enjoy a live band and all you can eat at this popular Tenafly event, outdoors at the Elks lodge on Franklin Street. $45 per person.

Starting Sunday, September 7, bring the whole family for Apple Cider Making every Sunday through October 19 at the Nature Center. Lend a hand with the apples and the press, taste fresh cider, and learn about apple history!

Don’t miss TNC's signature fall fundraiser, Campfire & Cocktails, on Saturday, September 13, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Enjoy cocktails, campfires, seasonal bites, and live music—all to support local nature education. Nature, learning, and community—find it all this season at the Nature Center! Register at tenaflynaturecenter.org

Save the date for the 11th Annual Community Night on Tuesday, September 9, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Food, drinks, entertainment, amusement rides, DJ, live music, local businesses, emergency demos, giveaways and more. Come join your neighbors and show your love for our community!

Poets Café, Sunday, September 14 at 4 pm at the Presbyterian Church, 55 Magnolia Avenue. Special guest, Tami Luchow, Tenafly poet and artist. Come along and enjoy a talk with Tami on the theme of creativity, and hear her read some of her work. Bring along your favorite poem to share and try out a bit of writing on the spot too!
