Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

The Recreation Fall Program Guide is now available for Sports, Events, and Programs. Details on the Borough website under Parks & Recreation, and register on Community Pass.

As the summer winds down we still have four more fantastic Outdoor Summer Concerts on the schedule. This coming Tuesday is multi diverse Claire Maloney and Great Adventure. Thursday, August 21, is the return of twice Grammy Nominated Divinity Roxx. Tuesday, August 26 is Grammy Award Winner, and ever popular, Soul Farm, and closing out the season, Tuesday, September 2, is Grammy Nominated Richard Baratta and the Gotham City Nonet. These evening shows have been a highlight of the summer and very well attended. If you haven’t caught one, now’s the time.

Discover the magic of the outdoors right here in our own backyard at the Nature Center! On Saturday, August 16 at 10:00 am, bring the little ones to Nature Story Time. It’s perfect for kids ages 3 to 7. They'll hear a fun, nature-themed story and meet one of TNC’s amazing Animal Ambassadors. Then on Sunday, August 17 at 10:30 am, take a breath, slow down, and reconnect at Heal & Hike, a free, 90-minute guided hike and meditation session for adults. Refresh your body and mind under the canopy of trees—led by the experts from the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine.

And don’t miss one of the most magical spots in town—the TNC Butterfly House! Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm, this is your last chance to feed butterflies, explore the native pollinator garden, and see nature’s beauty in action. Mark your calendar - August 23 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm it is the fifth annual RUMMAGE SALE and BAKE SALE FUNDRAISER at the Senior Center. Housewares, appliances, furniture, collectibles, jewelry, toys and so much more. This event is open to all. Stop by for shopping and lunch! Hamburgers, hot dogs, and funnel cakes! See you there!

The Presbyterian Church is hosting an underwater themed adventure vacation camp for kids four years old through fifth grade, August 25, 26 and 27, Monday to Wednesday 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at 55 Magnolia Avenue. Suggested donation $25 per child. RSVP by August 20, to 201-567-0111. Enjoy new friends, amazing experiments, games, snacks, music, adventures, and a treasure hunt.

The Tenafly Welcome! committee would like to welcome our new residents who have moved to Tenafly during the past year to a fun filled New Residents’ Welcoming Event on September 4, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Peace Plaza, next to the library. This event, for the whole family, is filled with wonderful catered hors-d’oeuvres, desserts, balloons and prizes. Personal invitations will be sent soon to home addresses. Check your mail! We are looking forward to a wonderful time together.

Save the date for the 11th Annual Community Night on Tuesday, September 9, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Food, drinks, entertainment, amusement rides, DJ, live music, local businesses, emergency demos, giveaways and more. Come join your neighbors and show your love for our community!
