Hello. This is Mayor Mark Zinna with a Friday news update.

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you have a terrific Independence Day weekend. Because of the holiday today, the Friday westside of town recycling pickup will instead be picked up this coming Monday, July 7. The Recycling Center is open Saturday and Sunday this weekend as normal.

Remember, this Saturday, July 5 is our Independence Day celebration kicking off with the festive summertime reggae beats of Anthem at 7:30 pm, in concert on the fields behind the High School. Fireworks are expected to launch at approximately 9:00 pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! (Rain date is Sunday, July 6.)

The opening performance of our Summer Concert series in Huyler Park is Tuesday, July 8 at 7:00 pm featuring AM Gold Yacht Rock performing contemporary hits from the 70's and 80's. Then on Thursday, July 10 it is the Latin and Brazilian jazz of Nelson Riveros. Visit the Borough website in the News Flash section for the full concert schedule.

Looking for local summer fun the whole family can enjoy? The Nature Center has something for everyone! Kids can explore, hike, and learn at Nature Day Camp—with weekly sessions still available. Visit the Butterfly House Fridays through Sundays for a magical, hands-on experience.

There’s even more fun ahead with Crafty Critters on July 5, where families can meet a live animal and create a nature-inspired art project together.
