
Oscar Ramirez
On Friday, June 27, 2025, the Honorable Mitzy Galis-Menendez sentenced Oscar Ramirez, 33, to 24 years in New Jersey State Prison for a kidnapping and sexual assault that occurred in North Bergen in 2019.
Ramirez, of North Bergen, previously pled guilty to one count of Kidnapping in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:13-1b(1) and Aggravated Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(3). He was sentenced to 24 years in New Jersey State Prison for the Kidnapping charge, which will run concurrent to an 18 year sentence for Aggravated Sexual Assault. The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act, Megan’s Law Registration, and Parole Supervision for Life.
On October 26, 2019, a 23-year-old female victim was approached by an unknown male – later identified as Ramirez – while walking on 46th Street in North Bergen. Ramirez grabbed the female victim from behind, threatened her with a sharp object, and then sexually assaulted her at the Grove Church Cemetery in North Bergen.
The State was represented at sentencing by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Andrew Baginski.
