Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 32-year-old JOSE PINZON LOPEZ of Woodcliff Lake, NJ on child abuse charges. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department, under the direction of Chief Stephen Regula.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged incident of child abuse that had occurred in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department revealed that JOSE PINZON LOPEZ physically abused a juvenile in Woodcliff Lake, NJ on or about Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, JOSE PINZON LOPEZ was arrested in Woodcliff Lake, NJ and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(2); and fourth-degree abuse and neglect, N.J.S.A. 9:6-1/9:6-3. PINZON LOPEZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Woodcliff Lake Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
