Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Hawthorne Police Chief James Knepper announce that on June 11, 2025, at approximately 11:32 a.m., the Hawthorne Police Department responded to Fairview Avenue and Goffle Hill Road in Hawthorne on a reported motor vehicle collision. A dump truck collided with a Nissan SUV in the intersection. The driver of the Nissan SUV, a 56-year-old man from North Haledon, was pronounced deceased.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
