Mah Jongg for Beginners

Ready to learn American Mah Jongg from the ground up? This multi-week beginner series will guide you step by step through the fundamentals. Each week, we’ll build your skills—starting with the tiles and rules, then moving into full game play. By the end of the 5 sessions, you’ll feel more confident joining a table and enjoying this timeless game with friends old and new. No prior experience required—just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity and we’ll provide the rest!

Registration is required, and participants must agree to attend all five classes. Due to limited space, preference is given to Rutherford residents. If you reside out of town, please fill out the waiting list located here. We will contact you prior to the first class if space is available.
