Taste of the City: Sounds of the Ironbound – A Celebration of Music, Food & Culture in Newark, NJ

Join us for Taste of the City: Sounds of the Ironbound, a dynamic cultural and culinary street festival in the heart of Newark’s historic Ironbound district.

Taking place on Sunday, June 29, this free, open-air event is part of the North to Shore Festival powered by Prudential, and brings together the best of Newark’s live music scene, global cuisine, and vibrant community pride.

Experience a powerful music lineup featuring:
• DaPunkSportif – Legendary Portuguese rock band with international acclaim directly from Peniche, Portugal, whose most recent released album was produced by Alain Johannes, a founding member of several bands, including the alternative rock group Eleven, and has been invoved with acts such as hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, PJ Harvey, Chris Cornell, Arctic Monkeys, Mark Lanegan and The Desert Sessions, both as a musician and as a producer.
• Troubleman – Newark’s ska - reggae powerhouse band
• The Randy Haze Trio – Newark's own amazing rock band to kick off the day

Culinary Delights: Enjoy the amazing culinary offerings in the Ferry Street corridor from the Ironbound’s renowned chefs, restaurants, and eateries — showcasing Portuguese, Brazilian, Spanish, and multicultural flavors that define Newark as America’s Authentic Food Capital.

Location: Ferry Street @ Five Corners (Ferry Street/Wilson Avenue), Newark, NJ – Ferry Street will be closed to traffic for a full-day block party
