**Event Description:** We’re coming together to recognize the incredible dedication and sacrifices made by front-line workers during COVID and to stand in solidarity with all who advocate for better healthcare and workplace protections. Whether you're a healthcare professional, or you just want to show your appreciation, join us for a day of fun at our **Community Cookout: Honoring Healthcare Heroes**, organized by Leftist-Progressive Night Out! As progressives, we know community care is key, and we can’t wait to celebrate the heroes who embodied the spirit of toughness, dedication, and bravery in the middle of a world-wide crisis. **Food & Donations:** We'll have a limited supply of burgers, hotdogs, and veggie burgers available for our healthcare heroes, and any donations you offer will help us boost that supply. To keep everyone comfortable, we’re asking everyone else to **bring your own food (BYOF)**. This way, everyone can share in the fun while feeling confident about their own health and safety preferences. **What to Bring:**
* **Seating & Shade**: chairs, blankets, sunscreen, or hats—anything you need to stay cozy outdoors. * **Games & Good Times**: kids and pets are welcome, so feel free to bring frisbees, board games, or anything else to keep the fun rolling. * **Community Spirit**: we encourage open conversations about how we can continue supporting healthcare workers, and how healthcare workers and progressives can work with each other to achieve common goals.
Together, we’ll enjoy good company, show our appreciation for the everyday heroes in our midst, and strengthen our connections in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Let’s bring our collective energy to honor the people who looked after our communities—then and now!
