Advanced Trip - Tubby Hook - 20 mile round trip
*Our regular season has ended. This trip is open for those who regularly helped us fulfill our mission and ran our public program by volunteering during our public kayak days in 2025.*
*If you did not have a chance to volunteer this year, we will begin to train new volunteers in May 2026.*

**Advanced Trip - Tubby Hook - 20 miles round trip**
We'll paddle about 10 miles each way, cross to New York City, paddle under the GWB, and wave hello to the Little Red Lighthouse.

**PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:**
1\. volunteered AT LEAST 4 shifts in 2025 during our public kayaking days
AND
2\. completed 2 trainings with our boathouse in 2025
AND
3\. Competed 1 intermediate or 2 novice trips in 2025 which you felt were easy for you
AND
4\. Completed our 1 mile\, 7\-turn time trial in less than 16 min 30 seconds
AND
5\. show full control of your craft\, can launch and land independently and completed kayak/sup level 2
Craft:
\* Sit on top - nope
\* Sea Kayak - only if completed 10+ mile round trip in 2025
\* SUP - only if completed 10+ mile round trip in 2025
\* Surfski - only if completed 10+ mile round trip in 2025
\* Have Ke Aloha Coach contact host to make sure you are qualified to use small boats and a Ke Aloha supporting member

**COME PREPARED:**

* Drysuit required (we have some for use)
* Water shoes
* Hat
* Change of WARM clothes
* Food or card/cash to eat
* Water in a reusable bottle
* All around waterproof white light
* Anything else you need for 5+ hours on the water

**TIMELINE:**
5:30 AM Arrive at the boathouse
5:45 AM Safety briefing hard cutoff to arrive. If you’re not here, you can’t join.
6:00 AM Move boats to the beach
6:15 AM Max Flood 1.79 kt at Pier 92
6:30 AM Depart from HCCB
6:45 AM Max Flood 2 kt at GWB
9:00 AM Arrive at Tubby Hook
9:15 AM Land and stash boats
9:45 AM Slack before ebb at GWB
90 minutes to eat and relax
10:30 AM Meet at boats, prepare gear, return safety briefing
10:45 AM Depart from Tubby Hook
1:15 PM Arrive at HCCB
1:30 PM Clean and put away equipment
2:00 PM Trip ends
