This course covers online fraud scams, which are an unfortunate but very real part of the internet. Scammers use deceptive tactics like fake emails (phishing), texts (smishing), calls (vishing), or fake websites to trick victims into giving up personal info (passwords, SSN) or money, all aiming to steal money or commit identity theft. We'll cover the most common types of online fraud, the warning signs you should look for, and some practical strategies you can adopt to avoid being victimized.
The library will provide laptops, which are sponsored by the Friends of the Library, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Space is limited & online registration is required. Registration is limited to Teaneck residents.
