Chinese dessert mochi, or tang yuan, are historically served during the Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. This classic sweet has ventured far from its origins, following the Chinese diaspora as it traveled the world. Join us on this edible journey as we make our own tang yuan. We'll begin traditional flavors such black sesame peanut and then segue into the tastes of the new world with ube, pumpkin, and more. Opening with a brief history of the tang yuan, the program will conclude with a tasting of our fresh creations.
