Since 1967, NNJLS has been providing Free civil (non-criminal) legal help to no- and low-income individuals in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic Counties. NNJLS’s mission is to ensure equal access to justice for low-income residents of our tri-county community, as no one should be denied a meaningful opportunity to have their day in court simply because they cannot afford a lawyer.

NNJLS attorneys specialize in legal issues that fall under housing, family law, education, public benefits, immigration, consumer, seniors, veterans, federal tax, and re-entry (formerly incarcerated). NNJLS prides itself on being an accessible, effective, and impactful provider in the community.
