Pysanky: The Ancient Art of Egg Decorating

This is a paid Adult School class. Click here to register.

Pysanky–the art of creating decorative eggs–is a traditional Ukrainian folk art form that is thousands of years old. In this class, you will learn about the historical significance of this delicate art form, designs and techniques, and finally create an egg of your own using beeswax and dyes that are applied in layers.

This meditative and communal experience is unlike any other art process and for many this workshop marks the beginning of a spring time family tradition that can be passed on and enjoyed for years to come.

No experience is required to participate in this workshop. Participants will be provided with all materials, and leave with a beautiful egg of their own creation!
