Join professional painter Anna Berlin to learn about the varied artists of the 20th century who helped make collage a fixed idea of modern art and experiment with their techniques in class. We will begin each two-hour class by looking at images of artworks and discussing them. There will be a collage assignment for each class that responds to the works and artists we shared. These assignments will also be possible to make with items you can find in your home – highlighting the adaptability and accessibility of the collage medium. Artists we will discuss include Miriam Schapiro, Melissa Meyer, Hannah Höch, Howardena Pindell, Betye Saar, Ellsworth Kelly, and Anne Ryan.

A materials fee of $14 will be charged at time of registration. Registration is required.
