Focus on your New Year's Resolution about Dieting as Registered Dietician Nicole Sayre from Culinary Creatives will offer an Adult Cooking Class featuring the Mediterranean Diet on Wednesday, January 14 at 7:00 pm. This lecture/ cooking class, will discuss the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet, a heart-healthy way of eating foods from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The diet emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, and olive oil with moderate fish/poultry and limited red meat, while promoting benefits like reduced chronic disease risk and improved longevity by focusing on whole foods and lifestyle. You will also learn how to make a recipe based on the Mediterranean Diet and sample it. Registration is required and limited to Allendale residents.
