Fresh Voices Book Group: Before I Forget by Tory Henwood Hoen

At twenty-six, Cricket Campbell is stuck—adrift after an old tragedy and newly burdened by her father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. When her sister wants to move their father, Arthur, into memory care, Cricket instead returns to their Adirondack lake house to become his caretaker, hoping to heal both of them.

Back at Catwood Pond, Cricket discovers that as Arthur’s memory fades, he can predict the future. As his eerie gift draws attention, Cricket is forced to confront her past and learn that the only way forward may be to go back.

The Fresh Voices Book Group aims to read books by new voices—debut authors with fresh perspectives. Though all are welcome to join, this book group is aimed at readers in their early twenties to thirties.
